Who are we?

The roots of Portland International are in human resource and change management consultancy and the business has a 24 year track record of managing complex projects involving organisational restructuring and the consequent cultural and people changes, including expertise in executive search, selection and outplacement.

We have always sought to be a true ‘business for all seasons’ and have evolved and reinvented ourselves in order to be able to listen to and meet the changing needs of our clients. With the particularly turbulent market place of the past year driving organisations into quite uncharted territory, we have used our knowledge and experience of managing change in recession as well as in growth.

Based in Manchester in NW England, we operate throughout the UK and internationally, working primarily with larger corporates and growing SME's especially in the retail, financial and professional services and FMCG markets.

We continue to be privately owned and this independence of spirit enables us to follow our own personal values and aspirations more closely. We actively seek work which accords with this and gives us a greater sense of purpose. Clients who value who we are as much as what we do, who also have a concern to develop and evolve themselves, to grow their businesses profitably – and sustainably - but also aim to put something back.

What are we great at?

Our focus for the past several years has been more specifically as a coaching consultancy with the emphasis on senior executive coaching and mentoring, as well as board and leadership development and top team coaching.

We are also imminently re-launching our sister company LifeTurnAround which is an intensive, holistic life changing experience designed for people who are seriously stressed or considering major life changes.
