What are we about?
- Having Fun – we have great relationships with clients and enjoy working and learning together, respecting the diverse contributions of all players
- Making Money – we deliver real commercial value for our clients and for ourselves
- Creating Change – we facilitate positive change for both organisations and their people
- Doing Good - we act with integrity, going the extra mile to help and putting back into the community through the Portland International Charitable Trust
What is our style?
Creativity – our solutions are fresh and innovative, designed around your unique personal and organisational needs, never purely prescriptive ‘off the shelf’ offerings.- Action – analysis, reflection, deliberation and consultation have their place but our style is generally more direct, energetic and action-orientated.
- Results – let’s decide what a good job looks like and make sure we do it to ensure we get the outcomes we agree upon with you! We are happy to be measured by results.
- Excellence – we set extremely high standards for the quality of our work, having gained ISO 9001 accreditation for all our services and Investors in People on our first application in 2003.
How do we express our Social Responsibility?
Portland International has its own charitable trust which was established in 1994 to help the poor and homeless in our local community. We have actively supported other well-established charities involved in helping predominantly young and socially excluded people in the community such as The Message Trust and Community Foundation for Greater Manchester.
In the last couple of years we have extended our reach to include Africa where we recently completed a project led by Ugandaid. This year we have instigated a new programme of investment and sponsorship in support of aid work in Uganda: ‘Transformation Through Vision – the Hero’s Journey’ which aims to raise awareness of the country’s needs and motivate the supply of food, medication, improve sanitation and in particular, education in AIDS / HIV related healthcare.
The programme presents a unique opportunity for like-minded organisations to become practically involved in development work in the country, whilst providing one or more of their senior executives the chance to put corporate values into real action by joining us on a trip in 2011.
