Executive Coaching

Executive Coaching

Top athletes and performers use coaches to point them in the right direction, focus them on their goals, fine-tune their effectiveness, and enhance their performance through continuous motivation and encouragement. Executive Coaching does exactly the same for top executives who want to excel in business and in life and is the key to unlocking the potential of your people, and your organisation.

Executive coaching is becoming so essential because it helps the Executive 'think outside the box' and come up with more creative solutions to meet the many new competitive challenges. The Executive Coach helps the Executive to translate the 'Big Idea' into Reality and helps him or her develop up-to-date techniques and skills to continually refocus and drive through change.

It can enable leaders to really examine their own and their organisation's values and helps ensure that their leadership behaviours are congruent with stated values, leading to a strong organisational culture and climate. It also enables them to develop good coaching and mentoring skills themselves, so they are able to act as powerful role models for their teams. It can also raise awareness of any life imbalances and can help the Executive integrate work, family and leisure in the most productive way.

The coaching itself is delivered either face-to-face or over the telephone, or a combination of both, and is backed up by additional email support, if required. Where the Portland International coach is selected for their specific expertise in the executive's industry or discipline and is in a position to act as a role model, transferring some of their own expert knowledge to the executive, the role becomes one of mentor rather than coach. However, in many instances, the consultant will have the skill to move between these two roles as required by the client.
